A MyFitnessPal alternative that trains too

Updated 30 October 2026

MyFitnessPal is the best-known calorie counter there is. If you lift as well, or you are tired of paying extra to scan a barcode, here is how URBDY compares.

Where MyFitnessPal is strong

Its food database is huge and it has been around for years, so most foods you search for are already in it. If calories are all you track, it does that job well.

Why people switch

The most common reason is the barcode scanner. MyFitnessPal moved it behind Premium in 2022. In URBDY, scanning a barcode, or snapping a photo of the label, is part of every plan.

The second reason is the gym. If you lift, you probably run a second app for your sets. URBDY puts both in one place, so your Today screen shows what you ate and what you trained.

What URBDY is

URBDY is one iPhone app for the gym and for food. It launches in January 2027, UK first, and the test version is open now.
